Champion athletes aren’t just born - they’re selected, trained, molded and tested. Since 2000, Wallumbilla Rifle Club has been open to shooting champions in the Maranoa. We hone raw talent to maturity with quality coaching and a true love of the sport. Teamwork, loyalty, camaraderie - those are the three things that make up the Wallumbilla Rifle Club.
At Wallumbilla Rifle Club Inc, we’re all about fun and competitive sports. Our experienced shooters help our members reach their highest potential, and to always have a great time whenever we shoot. We’ve been around since the early 1900's in one form or another so come and see how you can become part of our family and join us at cool events.
Precision Rifle Series (PRS) is a long-range and precision rifle-based shooting sport derived from practical shooting. The series have a championship style where competitors collect points from matches spread across Australia, and thereby are ranked across the nation.
Our range can accomidate shooters from 100 metres all the way out to 1000 metres, we also boast a digital target that gives real time feedback on shots out to long range.
IPSC shooting stands out as a highly dynamic and demanding sport within the global shooting community. Its courses of fire incorporate elements rarely seen in traditional disciplines, including shooter mobility, moving and multiple targets, and the autonomy for participants to strategize solutions to the shooting scenarios they encounter.
Steel Challenge is a speed shooting competition governed by the Steel Challenge Shooting Association (SCSA) that consists of eight standardized stages with steel targets in three sizes; small circular, large circular and rectangular targets. Competitors are scored solely by the time it takes them to complete each stage, and the match winner is the competitor with the lowest overall time.
Steel Challenge has many similarities with IPSC, but has a more TV- and spectator friendly format because of simpler rules and the stages being the same from year to year. Because of this, Steel Challenge has become a place where speed records are set and broken.
Single Action is a multifaceted discipline that uses original or replica firearms that were commonly used in the Old West period of 1800 to 1899. This includes single-action revolvers, lever-action and slide-action rifles and carbines, lever-action and pump-action shotguns, and side-by-side shotguns without automatic ejectors. The targets are generally reactive and vary in shape and dimension. In addition to competition, Single Action shooters also preserve, promote and respect the skills, traditions and pioneering spirit of the historic American Old West, often adopting a shooting alias appropriate to the era.
We've partnered with NSTA in our local community to provide safety courses at our range. The safety course offers all classes of firearms safety certificates and comes with professional advice and support from their trainer, who has 15 years of experience working with firearms.
